Help Us Select the Next Outstanding Logging Contractor of the Year!

Please help the Canadian Woodlands Forum recognize and support our professional logging contractors by nominating your worthy candidate for the 2012 Award.

Deadline for nominations is: January 31, 2012.

“The goal of the Award is to raise the profile and recognition of the logging
professions' contribution to managing the forest resource in a sustainable manner.”

To obtain an optimum level of evaluation points, it is important that your completed
nomination package include the following:

  • A cover letter
  • Nomination form (enclosed)
  • Environmental field checklist form with detailed remarks (enclosed)
  • Detailed descriptions on the five key elements (enclosed)
  • Letters of reference and support
  • Pictures, articles and other supporting documentation

Award Eligibility

  • open to all logging contractors involved in the cutting and handling of wood and/or the transport from the stump to roadside.
  • cut and/or move a minimum of 5,000 m of roundwood annually. (This includes manual and/or mechanical operations).
  • contractor must be a current member, or is eligible to become a member of the Canadian Woodlands Forum.

The Award

  • an engraved plaque, cash prizes, company profiles in regional and national trade magazines, complimentary
    registration at CWF spring meeting, one year complimentary membership.

Nominations

  • deadline for nominations is December 31 of each year.
  • nominations will be accepted from CWF member companies, associate members, provincial governments, or
    woodlot organizations.
  • member companies may incorporate their own respective award recipients as a nomination for the award.

Evaluation Process

  • nominations will be evaluated and judged by a team of industry representatives and the CWF.
  • awards will be presented at a CWF meeting held in the spring of every year.
  • evaluation team may refer to local representatives for verification and/or conduct on-site visits to determine
    four provincial winners.
  • A regional winner will be selected by an on-the-ground inspection visit of all four provincial winners.
