8:30 am to 3:00 pm
Departing from the Irving Big Stop in Deer Lake at 8:30 am sharp.
Plan to join us for a trip to the woods for an interesting day focusing on the Spruce Budworm outbreak: field stops will include a look at current defoliation as well as current field monitoring activities and comparative field sites that provide the resulting impacts of treated and untreated stands. The field trip will be held from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm and will depart from the Irving Big Stop in Deer Lake at 8:30 am sharp. Lunch and snacks provided by the NL Section of the Canadian Institute of Forestry.
We require carpooling to limit traffic congestion; rain or shine, so please dress accordingly with standard PPE, including hi-vis vest.
This dinner meeting and field trip is presented by Canadian Woodlands Forum in collaboration with the NL Forest Industry Association, the NL Department of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture, the NL Section of the Canadian Institute of Forestry, Registered Professional Foresters of NL, the Canadian Forest Service and the Canadian Wood Fibre Centre of Natural Resources Canada.
