We are committed to advancing the skills and knowledge to ensure a sustainable and prosperous future for the forestry industry. Our program encompasses a wide range of activities aimed at equipping individuals with the expertise and experience necessary to excel in the field.
Forestry Equipment Operator Training (August 2023 – Ongoing): The Forestry Equipment Operator Training, commenced in August 2023. We are proud to have successfully trained a new generation of forestry equipment operators. Our comprehensive training includes in-class and on-site training by experts from NBCC Miramichi. The students of this program are now actively engaged in the industry, contributing their skills and expertise to various forestry operations with onsite 1 on 1 coaching.
Our success is not achieved in isolation. We have forged valuable partnerships with industry leaders, including Bioapplied, Forest NB, NBCC Miramichi, JD Irving Limited, ALPA Equipment, Interfor, Forest Liaison, and the NB Department of Post Secondary Education and Labour. These collaborations have been instrumental in the success of our program, ensuring that our training aligns with the industry’s evolving needs.
Advanced Machine Operator Training (Recruitment beginning): As we continue to grow and adapt, our next phase will introduce the Advanced Machine Operator Training program, further expanding the skills and capabilities of equipment operators.
Workshops: We are actively engaged in workshops and collaborations with partners such as the Fundy Model Forest. These initiatives involve delivering presentations on harvesting prescriptions and ecological forestry to operators and woodlot owners. These workshops serve as a platform for sharing knowledge, fostering best practices, and promoting sustainable forestry.
