More than 170 forestry professionals from across Atlantic Canada gathered March 25–26 at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Beausejour for the 2026 Canadian Woodlands Forum Spring Meeting — two days focused on collaboration, innovation, and strengthening the future of forestry in our region.

For those who were unable to attend this year’s event, the Spring Meeting once again demonstrated why it continues to be one of the region’s most valuable opportunities for forestry professionals to connect, exchange ideas, and explore the issues shaping our sector today and into the future.

The atmosphere throughout the event reflected the strength of the forestry community, with engaging discussions, meaningful networking opportunities, and strong participation from industry leaders, contractors, researchers, educators, suppliers, and service providers.

Key Themes Shaping Forestry in 2026

This year’s program explored a wide range of topics impacting forestry operations, business planning, workforce development, and sustainability across Atlantic Canada, including:

  • Sustainability, trade, and market dynamics
  • Industry trends and operational realities
  • Innovation in research, technology, and digital forestry
  • Equipment, contractors, and on-the-ground operations
  • Forest health, wildfire resilience, and risk management
  • Workforce development and the future of forestry

From insightful plenary presentations to interactive networking breaks and exhibitor engagement, attendees had the opportunity to learn from experts, exchange perspectives, and strengthen relationships across the sector.

The event also featured Forestry Awards presentations and the always anticipated Log-a-Load for Kids Dinner Gala & Auction fundraiser.

Whether you attended or were unable to join us this year, we invite you to explore highlights from the event.

One of the highlights of the Spring Meeting was the Log-a-Load for Kids Dinner & Auction fundraiser, which brought the forestry community together in support of the IWK Foundation.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of attendees, sponsors, and donors, the event raised more than $10,600, with 100% of proceeds supporting the IWK Foundation and the important care they provide to children and families across the Maritimes.

A sincere thank you goes out to everyone who donated auction items, placed bids, and participated throughout the evening. Special appreciation is also extended to Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers for leading the auction and helping make the evening such a success.

The energy, enthusiasm, and community spirit on display throughout the fundraiser once again highlighted the forestry sector’s strong commitment to giving back.
