September 19th was an exciting day in the woods as contractors met our dedicated students from the Forestry Equipment Operator Training program (FEOT), showcasing their skills and knowledge while operating the machinery.
The turnout was fantastic, and the interaction between student operators and contractors was truly inspiring. The event was a great success, paving the way for potential employment opportunities for these budding forest equipment operators.
In the FEOT program, the students undergo comprehensive training, blending classroom education with hands-on field experience, guided by NBCC Miramichi Instructors. Once hired, they receive personalized on-the-job training from skilled consultants, Forest Liaison Inc. Quality work is our ethos in this program.
A massive shoutout to our invaluable CWF partners and collaborators: the Dept. of Post Secondary Training and Labour, Bioapplied Innovation Pathways, Forest NB, Interfor, ALPA Equipment Ltd., and J.D. Irving, Limited. Your unwavering support made this program possible and incredibly impactful!
We’re proud to contribute to the growth of skilled labour in the forestry sector, ensuring they understand the proper use and maintenance of forestry equipment. Here’s to many more successful endeavors and a promising future for our aspiring forestry operators!
